Carbon Footprint Calculation and Reporting

We carry out corporate and product carbon footprint calculations in line with ISO 14064, the GHG Protocol and ISO 14067, and manage your reduction and reporting processes.

What We Do

Our Carbon Footprint Services

Carbon footprint is at the top of the agenda for exports, access to finance and customer requirements. From preparing the greenhouse gas inventory to CBAM reporting, and from reduction projects to the management of environmental assets, we run your carbon management processes end to end.

Carbon Footprint

Risks

Expectations for measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions are rising. Export requirements under CBAM, the Scope 3 data that customers request from their supply chains and rising energy costs create risk for organisations that do not know their emissions.

Opportunities

Organisations that measure their emissions and set reduction targets make energy and resource efficiency opportunities visible, prepare for regulatory requirements in advance and gain a competitive advantage as demand shifts toward low-carbon products.

Our Approach

From Activity Data to Reduction Targets

We set up the greenhouse gas inventory management system so that it is ready for verification, and we help you define reduction targets you can actually implement.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Scope 1 covers your organisation’s direct emissions, such as fuel burned at your own facilities and in your own vehicles. Scope 2 covers the indirect emissions from the electricity and heat you purchase. Scope 3 covers the emissions that arise across your value chain: purchased raw materials, logistics, waste, employee travel and the use of your products.

  • CBAM concerns organisations that export to the European Union and operate in the covered product groups. Even if you do not export directly, if you supply a manufacturer in scope, you may be asked for embedded emissions data. We can check your product groups and clarify your position.

  • Essentially consumption data: electricity and natural gas invoices, fuel purchases, refrigerant refills, waste quantities, logistics records and production volumes. Most of this already exists inside your organisation; our work is to put it into a form that can be calculated and reported.

  • Verification may be needed depending on who the report is submitted to: statutory reporting, a customer request or a financing application can call for verified data. At Sistem Grup, we help you build your greenhouse gas inventory so that it is ready for verification; the data sources, calculation method and record-keeping are documented.

  • Carbon credits do not replace reduction work. Current reporting frameworks expect organisations to reduce their own emissions first; credits and certificates are considered for the part that cannot technically be reduced. Otherwise, the resulting claim creates problems with both reporting frameworks and customer audits.
